This is the only thing that works for me! I have terrible anxiety, which runs in my family. I become incredibly nervous and experience chest pains, and medications are the only thing that calm me down. I have tried nearly every prescription available, all of which caused awful side effects. I tried SAM-e, which initially made me feel great but led to terrible stomach pain, forcing me to stop. I resorted to this medication, and it is adequate to control my anxiety. My chest pains have disappeared, and I can handle situations that previously would have left me hyperventilating. I take two in the morning, two at lunch, and one around 5 p.m. Missing a dose makes me feel less well the following day. I experienced no side effects, and for me, it started working on the first day. I highly recommend it over prescription medications.

My experience with this was mixed. I took it for a couple of months to help with my depression; it helped somewhat, but eventually, I had to start on prescription medications. Those medications have annoying side effects, so I would recommend trying St. John's Wort first. If your depression isn't very severe, the herb might be effective for you. However, if you have suicidal thoughts or impulses, please avoid herbs and seek a doctor's assistance. You can alleviate your pain without ending your life; a little help is all you need.

Consult a doctor before taking it! I thought I could take St. John's Wort since I'm not on any SSRI medications, but apparently, I was mistaken. After taking a dose, I am now experiencing terrible chest pain.
